(TILCO), established in 2004, produces innovative learning products that help students learn more efficiently. TILCO products utilize common household goods as educational tools for hard to memorize topics, making learning an easy day-to-day activity. These products supplement traditional textbook learning, but do not take time away from a student's daily routine because the products promote learning through intrinsic visual stimulation rather than through pressured reading or required study methods. Sometimes rote memorization is necessary for learning basic facts particularly in mathematics and language, but memorization is rarely engaging because it takes repetition and time. TILCO products are fun, lighthearted and best of all interesting to look at. The designs are educational while stylish. The products are designed to fit the lifestyles of today's busy students and appeal to the stylistic sense of modern consumers.
The concept of TILCO products is materialized by the great ideas from discussions and surveys of students and parents. A 14 year old from Minneapolis, MN said a SAT shower curtain would help her learn vocabulary words. Others have given ideas involving measurement conversions, geographic maps, science diagrams, important historic dates and many more.
